Taxili APP

Taxili is a VTC app that target only Taxis

Introduction:

  • Case Study: Taxili App
    Introduction:

Taxili is a mobile application that allows users to hail taxis in the same way that they would hail a ride-sharing service like Uber.
Unlike Uber, Taxili specifically connects users with taxis, which may offer advantages such as professional drivers, regulated fares, or access to taxi-only lanes.
A key feature of Taxili is “Taxi Place,” which allows users to specify how many seats they will need during their journey.

    Understanding the Problem:

Traditional methods of hailing taxis, such as flagging one down on the street or calling a taxi company, can be time-consuming and inconvenient.
Ride-sharing services offer a more convenient way to hail a ride, but they may not always be available or may not be a taxi, which can seat more passengers.
There is a need for a mobile app that allows users to hail taxis quickly and easily, while still offering the benefits of regulated fares and professional drivers, and the ability to specify the number of seats needed.

    Design Process:

The design process involved user research to understand the needs and pain points of both taxi riders and taxi drivers.
User personas and journey maps been created to identify the different ways that users would interact with the app, including those who need to travel with more people.
The design focus on creating a user-friendly and intuitive experience that allows users to hail a taxi quickly and easily, meeting the specific requirements of taxi drivers and addressing the need for extra seating.

    The Solution:

Taxili allows users to hail a taxi with a few taps of their smartphone.
Users can see the estimated fare for their trip upfront, and they can pay for their ride using the app.
The app includes a “Taxi Place” feature that allows users to specify how many seats they will need during their journey. This feature is beneficial for users who are traveling with a group of people.
The app includes features that allow users to track the arrival of their taxi and contact their driver.
The user interface (UI) should be clean and uncluttered, and the user experience (UX) should be smooth and efficient, including an easy to find and use “Taxi Place” feature.

    Evaluation and Iteration:

The app should be usability tested with real users to identify any pain points or areas for improvement, especially with regards to using the “Taxi Place” feature.
Based on user feedback, i can iterate on the app and make improvements.

    Future Considerations:

The app could be expanded to include additional features, such as a tipping option or a corporate account option.
The app could also be integrated with other services, such as transit or parking apps.

    Documentation & Handoff

Design Documentation: Create comprehensive design documentation that outlines the final design decisions, user flows, and key functionalities.
Developer Handoff: I make sure developers have a clear understanding of the design specifications and can translate them into a functional platform.
